Event summary:
The Northern Forest Center
and convening partners from across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont,
and New York
will host the second Summit for the
Northern Forest.
Like the first Summit
in November 2008, the event will convene public, private and non-profit
practitioners from across the region to advance and expand specific,
collaborative initiatives to implement the recommendations of the Northern Forest
Sustainable Economy Initiative.
A unique and dynamic
aspect of the Summit is
the simultaneous gathering of multiple working groups focused on different
elements of the Sustainable Economy Initiative strategy, such as tourism
development, ecosystem services, higher education, community forests, public policy, and others. The event will provide each group with
focused time on their respective topics as well as the chance to meet and learn
from colleagues working on other important issues in the region.
